FFA - Alena & KenZ

Alena and Kensey joined FFA after moving to Millennium HS. The FFA program is dedicated to make a positive difference and to develope youth to their fullest potential through leadership in an agricultural setting. As I have watched the girls experience High School, Church, personal, and FFA activities I realize (again) the importance of our youth - and they thrill me. A & K are beautiful girls inside and out. Their personal progress makes me a PROUD MOM. This past Friday, Alena and team placed 6th at State FFA competition in the livestock judging and Kensey took 1st place in the interviewing portion; career being Sports Medicine. This will allow Kensey to compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. They both showed their enthusiasm and humility ....you are so cool. Love and appreciate all that you do.

About 12 years ago I worked in the Stake Young Women Presidency with these wonderful ladies. The friendship/ times was so fun! I appreciated so much Carol's business knowledge (Secretary) and Karen's accomplishing personality / wit (Counselor). They taught me so much....Such great times! This weekend, after all these years, we finally got to meet up and enjoy the weekend, catching up on each other's lives; our "female heart moments". Carol and I drove to Bagdad Arizona and stayed with Thor and Karen. Friends / Sisters; we need each other!!!

Holidays

The holidays were a great opportunity to spend time together. Last Sunday, we all met in Casa Grande to have Christmas dinner, share gifts, time and share the Christmas spirit with each other. Brandon, Marcy, Brian and Janette, Rusten and Danae, Tanner and Porter, Alena and Kensey, Toby and I - we were all there to enjoy the season. Brandon needed to get back to Safford for work. Jet graciously gave her Christmas Eve and Day to working at St. Mary's Hospital. Brian spent those days studying for his CPA exam. Christmas Day, we (Grandpa, Nana, Aunt Lena and Aunt Kenz) went to Maricopa to Nae's and we got to watch Tanner and Porter's excitement. Tanner loved his "santa" gift, a pretty cool bike, Porter loved his bike and they both loved the many gifts that Tanner got to tear open. Tanner found outside a spring horse we named "scooter". He just knew Santa would bring a bike and a scooter. Well Nana and Papa had to supply a "Scooter". Poor thing will be confused with a real scooter and his horse named scooter. We loved Christmas morning with Nae's family. Santa was also good to Alena and Kenz providing a travel itinerary in their stockings...a trip to Utah. Alena has applied and Kensey would also love to attend a BYU school. We thought this would be an ideal time to visit and get prepared for the cold, the fun.... plus Dustin Skinner was married and we attended their reception. It was nice to spend the evening with Danny's family. Joey and Lisa invited the girls to Snow Basin - what an experience. It was so fun watching the girls ski. We had a great Christmas Week and look forward to 2008. A couple pictures from the trip - first night we went as far as Las Vegas and the other picture is in the Snow Basin Lodge. ENJOY.
